SUITE Magazine Front Desk

From the desk of...Evan Scott

Hope you're survived the summer heat wave. Now it's back to school.

The SUITE Escape chat group is buzzing away. Here you can chat with other SUITE Magazine subscribers and fans about articles, issues, and of course…the guys ;-) The SUITE monthly newsletter (free) is a great way to hear what's going on with SUITE and what's coming in the next month's issue. We've already got 167 subscribers. Don't worry, you won't get spammed with useless junk mail and we never give out your Email addy. You can sign up for the newsletter or the chat group from the Table of Contents page. You don't even have to be a SUITE subscriber!

Don't forget, just because you didn't get a chance to read all the articles in last month's issue of SUITE you haven't missed out. You can see any of the past issues at any time in our archives. Just click the “Archive” icon on the bottom right on the Table of Contents page.

So what's up this month? Plenty as always. Are Wiccans a bunch of black magic worshippers sacrificing small animals or what? Diana Tierney tells us what they are really like. Last month we had a drawing to select four women who would each be matched up with a cover model and a writer. The writer was then challenged to come up with a short story featuring the model and winner. See what the steamy results are. Professional kick boxer Andrew Miller teaches you some practical self defense techniques. Beyond the Veil by N. K. Foxx is a viewpoint from an American woman who chooses to be Muslim and wear the veil.

Who says you can't have brains and beauty? I interviewed Kate Frank who is a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, college professor, sex researcher, and a recently retired exotic dancer. In fact her thesis was based the interviews of her regular customers in the club she worked at.

Find out how our SUITEheart of Marketing and Promo Cindy Walker is doing in her series A Brand New Me in The Gym. Sounds like she could really use your support right now!

SUITE wishes all those who have endured the wrath of hurricane Katrina a swift recovery. The fact that September has just started and we're already up to the letter “K” is pretty scary. With hurricanes, tornados, snow and ice storms, the thought of buying a generator for emergency power may be on your mind. In this month's DIY I help you decide if you need one and what to get.

Chippendale performer Jason Scarlett tops our list as our September SUITE Knight. Legendary big surf rider and ultimate athlete Laird Hamilton is in our Rouges Gallery. Leonardo DeCaprio is all grown up now and earned our VIP spot.

This month's book excerpt is from Harlequin writer Suzanne Forster, entitled The Lonely Girls Club. We welcome Barbara Webb who is now doing the Sensations column. Our delightful Karen Hudgins is in the Garden and gives us all the scoop on a different flower each month. Terry Campbell is taking over the This 'N That column with her amusing account of Danger on the Road, describing the different kinds of drivers out there.
