THE LOVE CALL

Jasmine Cole let down her hair, stripped off her clothes, and ambled barefoot into the sauna. She set the timer and poured more water on the hot rocks. The sizzle promised comfort.
     “Ahhh, heaven,” she murmured.
Settling on the warm teak bench, Jasmine spread her knees. The steamy, swirling mist moistened her skin all the way down to her peach painted toes. She sighed and closed her eyes, ready for simple comforts to bring quiet joy.
Tonight, especially, Jasmine really needed this treat. It'd been a hectic Saturday managing the Dream Haven Spa, and earlier she'd found her widowed mother crying…again. Time was slow to heal after Jasmine's dad died in a fire at work a year ago.
Weird, but sometimes she could smell smoke when there was no fire. So, when she left the sauna thirty minutes later and smelled smoke she thought nothing of it. Padding naked around the corner of the juice bar, she stopped mid-step.
A tall, broad-shouldered fireman stood in front of her. Covered in official safety garb, he raised his hand for the two guys behind him to stop.
“What're you doing in here?” she cried, yanking a towel from the counter and covering herself from breasts to knees.
“Hello, Ma'am,” he said. “You need to leave with me now.”

     “There's really a fire?”
“That's why I'm here,” he said briskly.
Stunned, Jasmine stood motionless. There was a fire in Dream Haven?
Transfixed, Buck gazed closer at her. He couldn't help but notice how the towel hugged her natural curves. Her bright brown eyes and sun-streaked hair. How her calves met her narrow ankles. He wondered who this natural beauty was, because she was certainly worth getting to know better.
Before Buck got out another word, Jasmine swiftly turned around, revealing her flawless back view. He stepped forward, but seeing a water droplet spill down the curve of her spine and coast over her smooth, curvy rump stopped him in his tracks. He was a fireman--but suddenly the emphases moved to man.
A familiar yearning in Buck's groin proved it. In the middle of a deadly mishap, had he found Nirvana? Smoke began to seep into the room, and he couldn't wait for the answer. He snapped back to the business at hand.    more >>
