SUITE Magazine Front Desk

From the desk of...Evan Scott

Wow it's already a new year.  SUITE is humming right along.  Fifteen issues of SUITE under our belts, countless more to go.  So what's new?  This month, we start our venture into multimedia.  When we do interviews, so much is lost in the transcription from the audio recording to text.  The inflection, the emotion, and the enthusiasm are not as apparent.  For the sake of space and time we also have to edit down the interview.  This month I interviewed a very talented saxophonist and singer Mindi Abair .  She has excelled in the “smooth jazz” field where few women have.  For the first time in SUITE you can download and hear the complete interview.  You'll hear how expressive Mindi is and how much fun we had chatting with her.  When possible we will try to do more audio and possibly video files like this.  Ultimately, we would like to offer video downloads of the actual photo shoots of our guys.  You think the still shots are good?  Wait till you see these guys in action.  So stay tuned, SUITE can only get better!

Okay so what's up for this month? Can a convicted murderer truly be redeemed? Sure they all seem to find God on death row but Tookie Williams went much further. He began a crusade to get the word out that gangs are bad by writing numerous children's books, and claims he found redemption. The courts and the governor of California disagreed with his sincerity. So, the recent execution of the founder of the Cryps has sparked the death penalty debate again.

So just who is the best rock band in the world? Well if you ask Cindy Walker it's U2 . Joanne Colby decides to go Scottish this month. She wrote up a feature on Robert Burns who penned what has become the anthem of New Year's celebrations, Auld Lang Syne. So just what the heck is “Auld Lang Syne” anyway? Guess you'll have to read the magazine to find that one out (g). Joanne also makes Scotland her destination in the Port O' Call column for January. Our book excerpt comes from Ellora's Cave author Denise Agnew , with her awesome book, Primodial . Then our own JJ Giles tells what it's like to attend a Passion Party over at Pandora's Toybox . Let me tell ya, this ain't your mother's Tupperware party. Sure to stir up plenty of heat are SUITE 's very own Kitchen Wenches , Kenna and Jaden , who whip up some positively wicked treats in The Kitchen .

Oh Canada! For our SUITE Knight we go north of the border.  French speaking Yvan (pronounced “even”) Cournoyer graces our web pages.  Someday, I want a body like his.  We also have Julian McMahon as our One Knighter and Lee Tergesen as our Rouge .  Scottish born actor Gerard Butler is our VIP .

Hey don't forget, many of our stories come from our subscribers.  If you have a story or idea, send us an Email. Maybe we'll print it up.  We are always looking for inspiration.

Well that it for January.  Now I just gotta remember to write “2006” on my checks.

Hugs to all you Kittens,
At Your Service
