Pretty sure you have what it takes to be a SUITE model or know somebody that does? Then this is the place to find out what it entails.
1. Model submits photos and answers some questions. For more information see below.
2. The SUITE selection commitee will review the initial submission and contact the model if we feel they are qualified. A longer questionnaire will be sent.
3. Model completes and returns the second questionnaire.
4. Upon determination of a candidate for SUITE Magazine, they will be contacted and a contract will be issued.
5. The model must complete and return the signed contract. At that time
the model will arrange for either photos to be submitted or, in the
case of selection for SUITE Knight, a Photo shoot with the photographer
of their choice. SUITE may request a themed or costumed layout to enhance
the Category the model is selected for.
6. The model is to submit the proof photos for review by SUITE.
7. When it is determined which issue the model will appear in, the SUITE Staff will inform the model. At this time no payment will be made.
*All photos become the joint property of SUITE Magazine and the model for one year. By submitting them you are certifying that you have the right to make this decision and are at least 21 years old. Any candidates that are found to have misrepresented themselves in this matter will be disqualified.
Good Luck!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a SUITE Model. This area will give you an idea what we’re looking for and how to submit a model application to SUITE.
Who Qualifies?
First of all, you do not have to have the perfect physique or be a bodybuilder. If anything, a guy who appears to spend all day at the gym is at a disadvantage. Yes a good physique is desirable, but women prefer men who are interesting, inspiring, personable, intelligent and above all else ... a gentlemen. If you aren’t any of these then you might as well stop here.
Age is irrelevant if you're over 21. If Harrison Ford at 60+ and Mel Gibson at 48 can be considered sexy then you can too, provided you have the right qualities.
SUITE firmly believes in sexual freedom no matter what the personal preferences are. However due to the nature of our magazine we are seeking heterosexual men only.
SUITE requires the men who represent the magazine to be above reproach so if you have a record or have been arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, or abuse, etc. you are unacceptable. Please pass on by.
Categories of models
There are several categories of
featured men in SUITE. The most notable is the SUITE Knight. These men
exemplify what the staff and readers want in a man. The spread will show
pictures and an interview so the readers can get to know and admire the
man behind the photos. This is the only pictorial where professional photos
are required.
Others are Generations (men in various age groups), One Knighter (short feature), and Rouges Gallery (men with interesting or adventurous jobs).
SUITE determines what category you fit in. Do not be disappointed
if you were hoping for a SUITE Knight slot and we select you for the Rogues Gallery.
Some of our decision is based on availability. We can only have 12 SUITE Knights
per year. The rest is determined by the qualities you possess.
We use pictures of men throughout the magazine as “eye
candy” for the reader so you may qualify as a library model. We will
inform you of this at the time of signing.
Payment for services
SUITE is a new venture. As a result, at this time there is no payment for being featured in the magazine. All photography and associated expenses are your responsibility. We hope to change that someday but we have a long way to go. We are offering excellent exposure for you and your photographer in a classy publication, which is viewed by women who appreciate the finer qualities of men. We will give the photographer proper credit and if possible a link to their site.
Photos for submission & printing
Although SUITE does not display genitalia, the men may be naked as long as they have a strategically placed prop for coverage. Wearing very little is also encouraged. It is advisable, at least in front of the photographer, that the model be comfortable with being naked or nearly naked. Make use of lighting and shadows to enhance or downplay features.
Some Legal Stuff
If SUITE decides to publish your pictures said photos become the property of SUITE Magazine for a period of one year after their appearance in the publication. No entity may publish, give away, or otherwise publicly use these pictures during this time. After that period the model and SUITE will share all rights to the pictures. The reason SUITE does this is to maintain the value of the pictures. If the same photos are readily available on the Internet, there is no value to their appearance in SUITE. We also make use of watermarks and tags that uniquely identify the pictures to track those who try to plagiarize them. Again, this is to maintain the value of the model's appearance in SUITE.
If you have a special reason to use these pictures during the first year, contact us and we will work with you. Often, there are promotional opportunities that would be good for both parties. The object is to promote you and SUITE so we all benefit.
SUITE Magazine Model Information Details
1. Go to link and
answer the questions. Submit 4 to 10 pictures. There should be at least
a head shot, full length shot, body shot wearing minimal (like boxer, briefs,
speedos), casual (show some personality here or you doing what you like
to do). For your initial submission a professional photographer is not
needed but we do want so see your personality (pictures should be JPEG
format and less than 100k each). If you are chosen for a pictorial you
will need a good photographer (if selected for the SUITE Knight we highly
recommend the services of a professional photographer). If you have a website
where your photos are posted this is acceptable in place of the submission
requirements. You should have photos similar to what we requested above.
The questions will still need to be answered. Send (with MODEL in the subject
line) to submissions@suitemag.com.
2. SUITE reviews this initial submission. This is the first of two rounds of judging that SUITE does to screen its models. If you make it through this process you will be sent a more detailed questionnaire to fill out.
3. Take great care in answering these questions. Answer them honestly, not how you think we might want them answered. The idea is to find out what you're really like. If you try to second-guess the answers we want, that will become apparent and mean you're NOT the kind of candidate SUITE is looking for.
4. The SUITE Staff will review your long questionnaire. We may also arrange a phone call with you for a more personal glimpse. We will investigate your information for accuracy so be honest. From here, if SUITE feels you are a good fit, we will contact you and send you a contract. We also may have a theme for the photo shoot based on your background or the issue we plan on featuring you in. There will be another round of questions. Some of your answers will appear with your photos to bring out what you're really like so the women can appreciate you that much more.
5. Once youve returned the signed contract you can start your photo shoot. Quality counts so choose the photographer wisely. This person will make or break you. Don't have your friend photograph you just because they're a friend. We are looking for unique and interesting pictorials that are memorable for the women. Take a look at magazines like Playboy, Maxim, and FHM. All of the clothing and settings in these magazines are well planned. What is needed for a good pictorial is an attention to details. For certain effects a plain backdrop works too.
Also, if the pictures are shot on film there will need to be a way to convert to digital format (either TIF, JPEG, or PSD) for transporting the final copies. Unless you blow up the pics to 8x10, a flatbed scanner usually isn’t high enough quality. Consult your photographer or photo shop. Some can do high rez scans directly from negatives. This is often the highest quality.
Wanting high quality photography may sound like overkill for a web site but SUITE plans to go to a printed publication where quality is important.
Remember, this will be your expense so spend it wisely.
6. Submit the proof photos in high rez format. We will work with you on the best way to get them to us (usually burned to CD and sent by snail mail or an FTP upload).
7. SUITE maintains high quality control in the pictures displayed. If the photography is poor quality, the poses don’t bring out your best features, or are too raunchy, we will reject them. Yes this subjective. If you have questions…ask.
8. If SUITE accepts these photos, you’re on your way! We will notify you what issue your pictures will be appearing in. You will also get 4 complementary subscriptions for friends and family. You will also have bragging rights. Few men will be in this position. You're free (and encouraged) to advertise the fact you're appearing in SUITE.
Again...Good Luck!
The SUITE Staff
