SUITE Magazine Front Desk

From the desk of...Tamara McHatton

OMG…It’s been such an exhilarating first month here at SUITE, and I am so tickled with the numbers coming in! Lots of letters and emails are arriving telling us we did indeed come up with a brilliant idea, and filled a much-needed niche in the market! Please keep those posts and comments coming in so we can make SUITE YOUR kind of magazine.

The Staff of SUITE Magazine would like to extend a big welcome to Cindy Walker, our new “SUITEheart” of Marketing and Promotions. We have no doubt she will be quite an asset to our team. She’s already hard at work, coming up with ideas and treats for all the ladies attending the 22 nd annual Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in St. Louis during April 2005, as well as being contest coordinator for the 2005 Mr. Romance competition. Talk about a dream job!

Joanne Colby, SUITE’s new “Sorceress” of Acquisitions, who also works with the Support Our Soldiers, aka SOS, project for Kathryn Falk, has also agreed to come on board…psst…writers -- this is the person to contact with any story and article ideas or proposals you have for SUITE Magazine. Be nice to this woman -- sending her a box of chocolates probably wouldn’t hurt your chances either! LOL!

On October 19 th…just a couple weeks after my birthday, I received a phone call. After answering it, and talking with Patti Lewis for hours, I knew my life would never be the same. From that moment forward, I knew as the Editor-In-Chief of SUITE Magazine, that my world had tilted at an angle I never expected. Our movie reviewer, and confidante for all that was wise and important, Nan Doporto, had passed away in her sleep. That night I sat outside and watched the stars, one of which decided to dance across the heavens and give me a memory I would not soon forget. For her memory and spirit, I call that star…Nan. In honor of her memory, and her good heart, this issue of SUITE is dedicated to this great lady. Many will sorely miss her.

So, what’s behind the luscious December cover featuring model and drool magnet, Greg Lyons? Well…we were lucky enough to work with Robin Schone, who contributed an excerpt from her bestselling novel, The Lover, and have one of her cuddly Teddy bears as part of our contest give-away. As if that wasn’t enough enticement to subscribe, SUITE (aka Carla) was able to convince Cheyenne McCray, (Evan’s white angel), to allow SUITE to reprint her super hot short story -- All They Want for Christmas, in its entirety as our Heat Between The Sheets feature. Originally written for Ellora’s Cave, using cover hunk Freddy Konings as the inspiration for the sizzle among its words, it is now being delivered to the SUITE readers just in time for Christmas! SUITE also has a really unique article on certain uhm…shall we say… wicked pastime and naughty pleasure…entitled Bottle Shopping…For the Woman Who Has Everything.

Evan and I interviewed Craig Chaquico, former lead guitarist for Jefferson Airplane and Starship, who is now a solo jazz artist. We also have a tribute to Nan Doporto and remembrances from many who loved her. And oh lordy…do we have the guys this month! We feature Greg Lyons as the December SUITE Knight, a technician on NASA’s orbiter shuttle, as well as being a romance cover model; Marcus Schenkenberg, the first male supermodel, Alex, the ultimate in sexy and mysterious bartenders who set our libidos on fire, and the one and only Brooks Johnson -- one of Echelon Press’ Men of Entice, and SUITE’s December One Knighter. Just check under the menu item of Scenic Views for these guys.

Look in the Kitchen area of SUITE Indulgence for unique recipes this holiday. Or travel to Christmas, Florida to have your cards and letters postmarked with the ultimate yuletide stamping. Want to know what to get him for Christmas? Then look to SUITE’s Do-It-Yourself article about buying stereo speakers, or, if you dare, under the Treats -- Sensations, for that perfect gift idea. In the garden area, you’ll find ways of making your own potpourri. One of SUITE’s contributing writers, Janet Elaine Smith, graces us with her own rendition of The Night the Angels Sang.

As Evan mentioned in our November debut issue, we will be alternating this position each month, which is something I look forward to (pun definitely intended!) and we hope to make this magazine better and more interesting as each issue unfolds. Don’t forget your subscription next month as we bring you The Chippendales! Enjoy and have a very merry…

Satisfying the mind, enchanting the soul, and touching the heart ,
